New Android updates for Galaxy S4, S3, S3 Mini and Note 2 - Big-screen.de

Samsung has launched its plans for “Kitkat” updates finally materialized. That was about time, since Android 4.4 is now only a few months old. The leader therefore intends to update about a dozen of its Galaxy devices currently on the current Android
. The announcement at a glance:

  • According to Samsung, the updates include the latest Android 4.4.2 currently “Kitkat” and are now shipping in the U.S. – when will they be available in Germany and other countries, it is still unclear due to lack of information. At least the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in this country has been updated to Android 4.4.

    For more Galaxy devices no updates are currently planned obviously. This is among other things the come just in Germany on the market Galaxy Tab 7.0 Lite 3 empty out, which still has to be content with “Jelly Bean” itself. Whether Samsung still has more Kitkat updates in the works to be seen.

    The current version of Android has now been about three months old and still ekes out 4.4 aka “Kitkat” just a niche. According to Google’s official statistics, the software runs on just 1.8 percent of all currently active Android devices.

    It is likely, however, gradually get things moving, because Samsung is currently working diligently along Kitkat updates. The page Phandroid has leaked a list with the timetable of the smartphone market leader
    . Thus, at least eight other Galaxy devices to be updated to Android 4.4:

  • Galaxy S3
  • Galaxy S3 Mini
  • Galaxy S4 Active
  • Galaxy S4 Zoom
  • Galaxy Mega 6.3
  • Galaxy Note 2
  • Galaxy Note 8.0
  • Galaxy Tab 3 7.0

  • has already been confirmed that the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note Android 4.4 3 received, resulting in the current state by Kitkat updates for at least ten Galaxy devices. It is striking that the Galaxy S4 Mini in the collection is missing, but this was probably just forgot. It would be very strange if the Galaxy S3 is updated Mini and the Galaxy S4 Mini not.
