Galaxy Note vs 3. Galaxy Note 2: One clear winner - Giga.de

class=”c6″> When a company brings a new smartphone on the market, this is of course technically always better than its predecessor. But what exactly does this mean for the consumer? I as Galaxy Note 2 owners currently considering to upgrade to the touch 3rd Why this is so, you can find out here.

Galaxy Note 2 is a really good phablet and had been almost perfect for me. And then the third note came In the past, some news about the device I have a bit put off (regional SIM lock, eFUSE chip, wobbly home button), so my initial euphoria has been minimized through the device slightly. However, I think the score 3 for an incredibly good part, which shall like to replace my touch 2nd Here are a few reasons why this is so:

Design

class=”c6″> As already written in my detailed review, to me the design of the Galaxy Note 3 like really good. At the polycarbonate lens of Grade 2 (and as good as any other), I have seen myself become really sick of the leather look of grade 3 and the associated benefits (no smudges and fingerprints, comfortable feeling in the hand, higher-quality appearance etc.) to make the score 3 in design clearly my favorite.

display

class=”c6″> I could not fault the 5.5 inch display of the Grade 2 long time. Until then I have seen the display of touch 3rd The colors on the latter have at full brightness stage an intense luminosity, the contrasts are very high and everything just looks extremely good. Under the circumstances to slightly oversaturated color representations may lead, in this case, the brightness but also simply turn down.

In contrast, the Grade 2 now looks almost kinda pale, but the fall in the direct comparison more weight than if you look at the score 2 alone. One gets accustomed to fast on improvements. Here, then, and a further development in Note 3, in contrast to its predecessor, is clearly visible.

Dimensions and Weight

Personally I do not care whether the display while grade 3 is now 0.2 inches larger than is the case with touch 2nd Both screen sizes I find really great, so I probably will not for the time being to a more “normal” smartphone with “measly” 4.7 inch and less change will / can. Much more important is that the device is not greater se . With the score 2 for me is actually the maximum size is reached, here in part because I really can not navigate very well with one hand through the menu. Everything is bigger (eg Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Mega, HTC Max One), me is just too big and then have to be a real tablet forth.

Fortunately

has managed to keep the dimensions of the music almost identical becomes larger screen Samsung. The Grade 3 is 0.1 millimeters while longer but is 1.3 millimeters and 1.1 millimeters thin narrow. In addition, the Grade 3 with 168 grams whole 15 grams lighter than its predecessor. Here, too, at least for me, a clear victory for the touch 3rd So far there is almost 3:0.

performance

Chill the score 3 runs a little faster and cleaner than the Grade 2, but that should especially be related to the much more data are stored on my touch 2, as this is the case so far in Note 3. For example, apps open faster and the service works smoothly.
For all the benchmark tests like, here are the results of AnTuTu and Quadrant for both devices. Suffice it to say: In the figures themselves Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 is clearly noticeable

On page 2 we continue with the S-Pen, camera, sound, and my Conclusion

S Pen, the camera, the sound, and my Conclusion

The S Pen and the associated functions

class=”c6″> Samsung is known to integrate numerous functions into their own apps and smartphones. This is the mark 2 as well as the Grade 3 is no different. But what changed that Samsung has finally made the score 3 to integrate the functions so that you can actually get pleasure to use them.

Both devices (and of course the first Galaxy Note) are ausgestattetn with a stylus (S Pen). With this you can hold notes, paint and draw ideas and make more. Unfortunately, these functions are partially interleaved so hidden and integrated in Note 2, that this simply does not want to use. Either you look too long to find a specific function or else it is set up so impractical that another method is faster.

 Samsung Galaxy Note3-27

class=”c6″> When grade 3 in this area everything seems much more elaborate. The basic S Pen features explain quickly by itself, through the action menu, which opens automatically when removing the S Pen, these functions have immediately at hand, and with an explanation as to understand and easier, so that one is equal to trying to try this.

In addition, the operation of Note 3 feels more supple and round with the S Pen. course, many gadgets are also in Note 3 reintegrated that perish rather, the general concept here but much more accessible.

would of course here also conceivable that the score 3 in the future with an update that receives these functions (in the form of a premium suite or similar). Previously, a point for the Grade 3, if there is but what does that would enhance the grade 2 again a lot.

camera

Sure, sound once more pixels better, but pixels are not everything, to provide a better picture. However, the camera provides the score 3 in my eyes for better results. The contrasts are higher, the colors more vivid. In direct comparison, the results of the Grade 2 look downright pale, as was already the case with the display. In this case, words to say but much more than pictures, so here are a few photos in direct comparison:

  • sound

In contrast to Note 2 (and actually all other Samsung Galaxy smartphones), the speaker of the Grade 3 is not attached to the back, but is on the bottom. Sonically, my feeling has done little to what, of course, the sound from such small speakers is pretty thin. But he is always loud. Takes advantage of this new arrangement but with it: While the score 2 times like the speaker (the bottom left on the back) is mounted) obscured by hand, this is the score 3 actually almost impossible. Unless you do it intentionally.

    My Conclusion

Galaxy Note 3 is in my opinion a really good evolution of its predecessor, which has a very clear reason for being. All in all the acts Grade 3 significantly more elaborate, the main points have evolved practical and understandable. The music has grown up.

Note 3 makes me personally simply fun and I’m sure I will as soon as possible change trains on Samsung’s newest phablet. Certainly is still a lot to do in terms of software for the Grade 2, but the hardware is in Grade 3 better.

Since I fly to Los Angeles later this week I will also still the same deal myself there with the SIM lock lock. It should be perfectly possible to use the device after unlocking with a local SIM card while abroad, a change is actually nothing in the way.

In my comparison, I’ve already said so quite alele. Have you already had experiences with the score 3 and if so, what do you think of the device?
