With OmniROM install Android 4.4 on the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and Note 2 – so you get more power from oldies and smartphone manufacturers do not have to wait for updates OmniROM is a new Android system (Custom ROM) of known developers such as Chainfire (including SuperSU App), Xploidwild (including Focal Camera, CyanogenMod) and Dees_Troy (including TWRP, Team Win Recovery Project). Officially located far only the source code on GitHub ready unofficial versions with Android 4.4 but were already ported to the Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3, and touch 2nd

The latest official Android version for Galaxy S 2 is the outdated 4.1.2 – yet the former Samsung flagship still has a loyal following. Who does not want to sit on the Android system, the S2 can now by OmniROM on Androdi 4.4 update and so bring on the latest software version.

But the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 to update with OmniROM already on Android 4.4 – and at the same time get rid of useless software features, the only slow down the system. Because the ROM based on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project), which is the freely available source code of the Android system and is based on Google’s vanilla version and stock version, as we know from the Nexus devices forth. A few optimizations brings with OmniROM however, about the DSP Manager (Equalizer from CyanogenMod) and a few advanced system features. More functions will follow with the official release Note. The OmniROM versions of Android 4.4 for the Galaxy S2, S3 and Note 2 are unofficial ports that are still in the alpha stage and may contain bugs. The ROM does not come with Google Apps (GAPPS) such as Gmail, Maps and Play Store. Google’s services but can be set up later.

In order to install a custom ROM, your phone must be rooted. More information on the subject, see “rooten Android: Advantages and Disadvantages” in our article. Root instructions for your smartphone, see our Workshop collection.
